Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge Wires, and to the exhibitors for such a good quality entry. I felt the quality was greater in the bitches and was delighted with my bitch line up. Several close decisions and unfortunately a small ring did benefit the smaller ones as the bigger ones just couldn’t get into their stride at all. Mouths were all good unlike last time I judged and movement has generally improved. On the negative side though I did find a number of exhibits with umbilical hernias which needs watching.

Puppy Dog – 2 Entries (1 absent)

  1. Rowe’s – Boloria’s Cadburys Surprise – 9 month chocolate dog of a good size. Decent lay of shoulder, good length of ribbing. Tidy rear which he just needs to settle into a little bit more. Moved out well but a little narrow in front.

Junior Dog – O Entries

Post Graduate Dog – 2 Entries (1 absent)

  1. Rowe’s – Borloria Valentino – Dark brindle dog with an excellent coat. Lovely head and neck, good ribbing. Holds a correct top and underline at all times. Looks lovely stacked, true coming and going, but would like to see more freedom in his profile movement.

Limit Dog – 4 Entries (1 absent)

  1. Seath’s – Sunsong Whisper A Promise – 2 yr old Chocolate dog of an excellent size. Good head and neck, well constructed front. Good length of ribbing and a good rear. Moved out well with correct drive from the rear. Would like a harsher coat.
  2. Gibson’s – Allfreys Rock of Gibralter – Dark brindle with an excellent head and front construction. Excellent ribbing. Good hindquarters which he used well on the move. Topline needed to settle more on the move at times.
  3. Rollinson’s – Bystock Double O’ Seven at Nosinllor

Open Dog – 3 Entries

  1. Phillips’ – CH Cishelvine Swellegant Guy At Tendrow JW – Loved this dog as a puppy and he still is a delight to judge. Super type and the correct size. Excellent head, correct front construction. Good ribbing. Good top and underline. Well angulated rear. Harsh coat. Moved really well, using his rear to power round the ring. His size was his real advantage today in the small ring. Super temperament. Pleased to award him the CC in good company.
  2. Lewis-Crookes’ – Barmaud Rufus (IMP) – bigger 2 yr old red dog of excellent quality. Lovely head and neck which he carries so well on the move. Excellent ribbing, super rear which it’s obvious he can really use on the move. Such a shame there wasn’t more room to get him really intro his stride. Good coat. Presented in tip top condition. A very close decision but had to settle for the RCC today.
  3. McCalmont’s – Silvae Quantum

  1. Gibson’s – Allfreys Greta Garbo – 7 month brindle baby, lovely head, excellent neck. Good shoulder angulation, adequate prosternum for age. Good ribbing. Moved with drive but needs to settle more as I’m sure she will with age.

Puppy Bitch – 3 Entries (1 absent)

  1. Rowe’s – Boloria’s Naughty But Nice – 9 month pale chocolate, better height to length ratio than 2. Lovely head and neck, good front and ribbing. Moved well with drive.
  2. Orchard’ & Whitelock’s – Boloria’s Hershey Kiss – darker chocolate than her sister, heavier through and lower to ground than 1. Good head and front. Excellent ribbing. Good top and underline, neat rear. Moved well. Could do with losing a bit of weight.

Junior Bitch – 1 Entry

  1. McCalmont’s – Silvae Quartet – 14m elegant bitch with an excellent head and neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Good ribbing. Holds a good top and underline both stacked and on the move. Moved out ok but didn’t have enough room to get into her stride. Would like her to be smaller.

Post Graduate Bitch – 3 Entries

  1. Lewis-Crookes’ – Black Beauty by Kormeese Cread (IMP) – Lovely balanced bitch of continental type. Lovely head and neck. Good front angulation. A bit short in ribbing but top and underline were correct. Could use a bit more angulation behind but this didn’t stop her from moving out very well with the correct drive and extension. Close up for top honours.
  2. Rees & Dible’s – Liebling Fly Me To The Moon –  Lovely type of bitch with a good head and neck. Excellent front construction. Good top and underline. Good rear. Unfortunately not making the most of herself on the move today looking rather lethargic.
  3. Rowe’s – Derochaise Atlantica to Boloria

Limit Bitch – 7 Entries (2 absent)

  1. Phillips’ – Tendrow Peaches – Gorgeous red bitch of such super type. Not a small girl but quality through and through. Good head and neck leading into excellent shoulders. Good prosternum. Holds an excellent top and underline both stacked and on the move. Super hind quarters. She excels on the move, really driving from her neat rear. Parallel coming and going and really lovely in profile. Could watch her all day. Topped off with a fabulous temperament, wagging her tail the whole time. No hesitation in giving her the CC (her 3rd) and BOB over her father who is siring some cracking Wires. Well done wish she was mine.
  2. Seath’s – Boloria’s Kaleena At Sunsong JW – Elegant brindle with a lovely head and neck. Clean shoulders, good ribbing, holding a correct top and underline at all times. Neat rear. Moved true both ways and looked good in profile. Her overall balance won her the RCC in good company.
  3. Rollinson’s – Nosinllor Artemis

Open Bitch – 5 Entries (1 absent)

  1. McCalmont’s – CH Silvae Zeal – Elegant brindle of good type. Bigger than I prefer but very balanced with excellent angulation both ends. Lovely head and neck. Good ribbing. Correct top and underline. Moved well with good extension and drive but a bigger ring would have been to her advantage.
  2. Gibson’s – CH Allfreys Grace Kelly – Similar in type to 1, elegant bitch with good front construction. Plenty of pro-sternum, good ribbing. Excellent rear. Moved well.
  3. Phillips’ – Tendrow Replayed In Red
