Thank you exhibitors, I much
appreciated the quality of the entry at this my first time awarding CCs to
this variety. When there is a combination of true breed type, soundness and
quality such as there was here today, this makes the task of assessing the
entry all the more enjoyable. All exhibits were presented in good clean
condition and temperaments were very good. I will not comment individually
on coat textures and furnishings as most passed muster here. Thanks to Anne
and Rod Green for their unobtrusive stewarding. BCC & BOB was McCalmont's
Silvae Solo, gorgeous brindle bitch of much quality and style who possesses
all the essentials of a true Dachshund, she has lovely breed type, a sweetly
feminine conicle head, super keel complete with dimples, lovely neckline,
correct front assembly and tight well-padded feet, good muscular development
all over, ribbing reaches well back, ground clearance and height/length
balance just right and her movement is true coming and going. Just lovely.
RBCC was Pughe & Fraser's Ch Bystock Black Truffle, dark brindle, this is
another superb well-balanced bitch of quality and beautiful breed type,
sweetly feminine head and correctly shaped eye, elegant neck, lovely keel
properties and dimples, front legs and feet as one would expect from a hound
out of the top drawer, smooth ribbing extending well back, well-muscled
body, adequate ground clearance, topline & underline in harmony and correct
parallel movement. A poppet. Splitting these two exquisite bitches was the
most difficult decision of the day for me and I imagine they will change
places with each other many times. They both stole my heart! DCC was
McPherson & Paterson's Ch Fransin Brasilian T P Panettone Sh CM (Imp),
brindle, this excellent quality hound was the first to be examined in his
class and I could not find another to place over him today, like all good
ones he is beautifully sound and possesses lovely breed type, he has an
attractive masculine head without any coarseness, sweeping keel and super
legs and feet, topline and underline are in harmony and there is adequate
ground clearance, movement was also true coming and going. Excellent. RDCC
was Seath's Zlowfox Av Larhjelm at Sunsong (Imp Nor), brindle, another
excellent prospect who has an outline very similar to the one above, there
is quality and soundness here together with lovely breed type, attractive
masculine yet refined head, correct front assembly and sturdy legs and
bunched feet, correctly angled both in forequarters and hindquarters,
topline and underline are correct and he has adequate ground clearance,
moved truly. One for the upper house.
PD (2) 1 & Best Puppy, Wharton &
Pughe's Derochaise Black Tarquin and 2) Vine's Derochaise Justified for
Cishelvine: dark brindles, being litter brothers these two promising young
hounds are very similar to each other, both are soundly constructed and are
of true breed type, both have attractive heads and are at much the same
level of development, both have much to commend them and will no doubt fight
it out together in classes in the future. On the day I preferred the hind
movement of 1st slightly over 2nd. JD (3) 1 Phillips' Tendrow Replayed in
Blue, an attractive dark brindle who rather stood out in the class, a
quality young hound who presents a pleasing balanced outline, typy head and
eye, prominent keel and sturdy legs & feet, correct head, pleasing topline &
underline and ground clearance, moved truly. Will do even better with a wee
bit more confidence. 2 Smith's Jethard Two To Tango at Salixian, nice red
dog who was not disgraced here, slighter broader in scull than the 1st
nevertheless he is sound and typy, length/topline/underline are all in
proportion and there is adequate ground clearance, moved confidently. 3
Baldwin's Aventine Scotts Bluff.
PGD (4,0) 1 Kent & Dibble's Ciselvine
Storm at Sea at Liebling, brindle, a very respectable classic Wire who has
it all together, handsome head, sound forehand and sweeping ribcage
extending well back, adequate ground clearance, correct topline, parallel
movement. 2 Bliss' Knottsrose Juniper at Tobenkipt, brindle, another good
typy Dachshund who pressed hard for top spot in the class, classic head
properties, good front assembly and strong legs and feet, just preferred the
ground clearance of the 1st. 3 Paskins' Tendrow Replays The Red Guy at
Kindeace.
LD (7,0) 1 Vine & Baxter's Cishelvine
Red Admiral, red, eye-catching hound of quality who scores for his overall
balance and breed type, attractive head and expression, prominent keel and
dimples, strong legs and well-padded feet, good height to length proportions
and adequate ground clearance, the best mover in the class. 2 Weatherer's
Salixian Levante Via Itsuitzuz, dark brindle, another attractive hound in
firm muscular condition, correct head properties, pleasing keel and front
assembly, good ribbing, topline & underline well matched, adequate ground
clearance, correct movement. 3 Sorensen's Jethard Just Jive.
OD (7,0) 1 Ch F B TP Panettone Sh CM
(Imp) 2 Z Av L at Sunsong (Imp Nor). 3 McCalmont's Ch Silvae Zealot.
MPB (1) 1 Paskins' Kindeace Ruby
Tuesday, dark brindle, very sweet bitch who is nicely put together, feminine
yet true head, sound front assembly, tight feet, smooth ribbing and fine for
height to length, confident showgirl.
PB (4,1) 1 Hastings' Lesandnic
Sleepytime, brindle, attractive bitch who is well-matured for her age,
feminine head and pleasing expression, she is beautifully constructed all
over, well balanced for height to length and has good breed type, smooth
sweeping ribcage, adequate ground clearance and true movement. 2 Bates &
Maes-Jones' Derochaise Wild Orchid, dark brindle, not as mature as the 1st
yet close up, sweet head and expression, good overall balance, sound front
and prominent keel, well-matched forequarters and hindquarters, adequate
ground clearance, very good movement. 3 Binks' Lesandnic Sarafina.
JB (5) 1 Davies' Tendrow Joie de
Vivre by Atahira & 2 Seath's Sunsong Pine Nut, brindles, I found it
difficult to separate these two attractive bitches as both deserved to win
the class! Both bitches have quality and lovely breed type, sweet heads,
excellent front assembly and smooth sweeping ribbing carried well back,
correct height to length balance and adequate ground clearance, both have
true parallel movement and will no doubt change places over their careers.
On the day 1st moved with a tad more activity. On today's showing both
should have successful careers. 3 Bates & Maes-Jones' Derochaise Frosted
Orchid.
PGB (4) The first two could well
change places with each other. 1 Phillips' Hototo Swellegant Gal at Tendrow,
dark brindle, my notes say smashing! Most attractive feminine bitch who is
well put-together and has super breed type, sweet head, correct keel and
dimples, sturdy legs and feet, well- muscled all over, correct height/length
balance and adequate ground clearance, correct active movement. 2 Warren's
Wagsford Lydia, brindle, my notes also say smashing! Another bitch with good
breed type, lovely head and expression, elegant neckline, true front
assembly and prominent keel, topline and underline match each other, there
is adequate ground clearance and she moved with true movement. 3 Baxter's
Cishelvine August Breeze with Hotwire.
LB (6) 1 Paterson & Paterson's
Ambiesque Allure, brindle, charming quality bitch who caught my eye
immediately on account of her lovely overall make & shape and breed type,
typical head properties, lovely neckline, prominent keel and dimples, sound
well-angled forequarters and hind quarters, best of legs and feet, excellent
body properties with lovely smooth ribbing and ideal height/length balance
and adequate ground clearance, true parallel movement. One for the upper
house. 2 Smith's Rouge Et Noire at Salixian, red, lovely sound bitch unlucky
to meet the 1st today, she is well constructed and has commendable breed
type, correct keel, sound legs and feet, well-muscled all over with a smooth
sweeping ribcage, angulation fore & aft well matched, spot on for balance
and ground clearance, will do even better with more confidence. 3 Vine's
Cishelvine Enigma of the Sea.
OB (4) 1 Solo. 2 Ch B Truffle. 3
Rowe's Boloria's Naughty But Nice.
