W/H – MPD (3) 1 Wharton & Pughe’s Derochaise Black Tarquin, attractive dark brindle, nice size, good head, eye & expression, well sprung ribs, could do with a bit more length of ribbing, level topline, sound steady mover, shown in excellent coat & condition. BP; 2 Vine’s Derochaise Justified for Cishelvine, brother to 1st, less mature than his littermate however nicely made throughout, steady mover. I’ll be interested to see how these brothers develop; 3 Owen’s Derochaise Santiago.PD (1) 1 D Santiago, brother to 1st & 2nd in MP, nice head, dark eye, steady mover but just lacked the reach & drive of his litter mates at this stage. JD (5) 1 Phillips’ Tendrow Replayed In Blue, this lovely dark brindle boy instantly appealed to me with his overall balance, outline & correct size. Beautiful head & eye, good neck, enough front, good ribbing, level topline, excellent underline with enough ground clearance, nice hammy quarters, good tailset, presented in excellent coat & condition. Covered the ground with nice, easy free movement keeping his lovely outline at all times. When it came to the challenge, my eyes were repeatedly drawn back to him & in my opinion, there was nothing to beat him on the day. CC; 2 Warren’s Wagsford Lincoln, unlucky to meet the winner as I found this dog to be very attractive, masculine in outlook, good reach of neck, level topline with a good underline, wire coat, balanced angulation, free moving dog who covers the ground really well. He came close to the RCC; 3 Bliss’ Knottsrose Juniper at Tobenkipt. PGD (2) 1 Sorensen’s Jethard Just Jive, nice sized dog, good head & eye, well developed front, excellent ribbing, balanced rearquarters, level topline, sound mover, a little proud of his tail. Presented in fantastic coat & condition; 2 Clare’s Bellavin’s Illustrious, bigger framed dog who has a good overall outline, excellent coat, could have a little bit more front angulation, kept his good outline on the move. LD(6,1a) 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Farrago, instantly appealed to me in this class, partly due to the way this dog was handled & presented in tip-top condition. Ideal size, beautiful head, dark eye, long neck, level topline, good ribs, well balanced hindquarters, sound moving dog who displays an air of arrogance. RCC; 2 Vine & Baxter’s Cishelvine Red Admiral, attractive red dog, nice head & eye, good neck, level topline, long ribcage, moved out well covering the ground with ease, just a little on the long side for me; 3 Rollinson’s Bellavin Invincible at Nosinllor. OD (7) 1 Moore & Coverley’s Ch/Ir Ch Ex-Scentia I’m Bond James Bond, a long time favourite of mine, excellent size, most beautiful head & eye, he excels in his long neck & ribbing, level topline, good quarters. Sound, free, easy mover. Just missed out on the top awards today due to being shown out of coat but there is no denying this is a quality dog deserving of his titles who has made a tremendous contribution to the breed; 2 Coverley’s Ch Aventine Jamaica Inn, nice type of dog who can certainly move, the more he went, the better he got which earnt him his place in this hotly contested class. Good head, well filled front, level topline, balanced angulation fore & aft, held his outline at all times; 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Rock Of Gibraltar. V (2) 1 Ch Nosinllor Joan Of Arc, pretty little bitch enjoying her day, in lovely condition, excellent coat, super topline, sound steady mover giving it all; 2 Cishelvine Sea Swell, this mature gentlemen put in a good show, good head & eye, excellent front, good ribs, just not in the coat condition of 1st.
MPB (1) 1 Wharton’s Greyhanye Lotty Merry, lovely puppy, pretty head & dark eye, well developed front, particularly good in ribs, level topline, nicely let down behind, good coat & a sound steady mover. BPB. PB (3) 1 Rowe’s Boloria’s Forever Foolish, nicely made bitch, reachy neck, good front, level topline, well ribbed back, super hind angulation, sound mover, just a little lower to ground than the MP winner; 2 Clayton-Smith’s Boloria’s April Fool, littermate to 1st. Again, she is soundly made, good overall balance, while equally as well made, she was just not putting all in on the move; 3 Passey’s Upperholt Magnolia Springs to Cagebrook. JB (3) 1 Davies’ Tendrow Joie De Vivre by Atahira, really lovely bitch, particularly attractive head, well made front, excellent ribs, level topline, good coat, well angulated quarters, sound mover. She came close up in the bitch challenge & I was interested to see she was sister to the DCC winner; 2 Morris’ Wagsford Giselle, attractive bitch with a lovely look about her, while displaying a balanced outline, is not so well developed in front as 1st but again, a steady sound mover; 3 Moore’s Romanchi Mi’Kmaq. PGB (5,1) 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Solar, litter sister to my BOB winner, she displayed many of the same qualities, excellent head, level topline, her soundness & freedom of movement put her in first place in this class, not to mention her excellent presentation & handling; 2 Coverley’s Aventine Dawn Patrol, nicely made all through, she has many of the qualities of 1st, reachy neck & a level topline, balanced quarters, sound & steady mover; 3 Smith’s Salixian Leveche. LB (4,1) 1 Gibson’s Allfreys Sternchen Airisha, feminine bitch of lovely proportions, well developed front, level topline, good ribbing, super hindquarters, a sound mover. Just wish she would carry herself better & today, presented in an under coat; 2 Smith’s Tendrow Rouge Et Noire at Salixian, red bitch, less feminine in head than 1st, good ribbing, balanced fore & aft, sound moving away but a little wide coming towards; 3 Vine’s Cishelvine Enigma Of The Sea. OB (8,1) 1 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Solo, very difficult to separate the first two, both lovely bitches. However, this bitch topped the class because of her sheer soundness on the move. She is of a lovely type & quality, has a classic Dachshund head & a reachy neck. Excellent outline & while it took a while for her to settle, she could not be denied her awards on her overall quality & tip-top condition. The type & quality of this bitch is to me, what we should all be aiming for. Thoroughly deserved the CC & BOB; 2 Pughe & Fraser’s Ch Bystock Black Truffle, pushed the winner all the way. This bitch has a real look of quality about her, was shown in excellent coat & was immaculately presented. Without going into finer details, I just preferred the more feminine head & utter soundness of the winner but nevertheless, a quality bitch. RCC; 3 Warren’s Ch Wagsford Florance.
