I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge at their show & for their kind hospitality, thanks to my two stewards for their help in keeping the ring running smoothly & efficiently & to the exhibitors for their entry. I had some lovely hounds to assess, some I have admired from ringside & it was a pleasure to run my hands over them. Thank you all very much. All exhibits appeared to be in good physical condition, temperaments were good, with no backing away & all appeared to have a correct scissor bite.
JD (1) A. PGD 1 Baldwin’s Aventine Scotts Bluff, 2 years b/t brindle with a lovely strong “houndy” head, correct conical shape & proportions, & dark almond shaped eye. He has a good reach of neck, prominent pro-sternum, an oval well filled in forechest that has good width through & a good length of keel. His shoulders are well laid back, ribs are sprung & carried well back to a strong loin & a well developed rearquarter. He stands on good bone, has neat feet, & a correct wire jacket, & moved out soundly in profile keeping his elbows in & maintaining his topline & was true out & back. RBD; 2 Kennedy’s Strabathie Dextor, 2 years brindle, correct head shape & proportions, dark almond eye giving a lovely expression. His forequarters are fairly well constructed, ribbing OK but would prefer a more gradual incline of is underline into his abdomen. He stands on strong bone, has a super harsh wire coat & moved with plenty of enthusiasm around the ring. OD 1 McPherson & Paterson’s Treis Pinheiros Obi Kenobi, my notes say wow! An impressive looking dark brindle, beautiful correct head that is masculine & “houndy”, a dark almond shaped eye, with a strong, long arched neck. His forequarters are beautifully constructed, lovely layback to shoulder, with a good return of upper arm, prominent pro-sternum, an oval, well filled in thorax that has plenty of width through a deep brisket, lovely long keel, supporting ribbing that is well sprung, & is carried well back to a short, strong loin. He has a broad well developed rump with “hammy” thighs & a well turned stifle. He stands on good bone with neat feet, has a super wire jacket that was beautifully presented. All of these attributes enabling him to move around the ring on a free & easy stride with reach & drive, elbows neatly tucked in by his side, maintaining his topline at all times, & is true & parallel when moving away & back. In my opinion, he is a real stallion of a hound & presents a beautiful picture of everything balanced & in proportion when stacked & moving, with nothing being exaggerated, everything fits together. I had no hesitation in awarding him BD, BOB & later on watched him being shortlisted in the hound group. Congratulations! 2 Paskins’ Tendrow Replays The Red Guy at Kindeace, a r/br, with a correct wire jacket, lovely head & expression, balanced picture when stacked, front & rear construction OK, he has good bone & moved around the ring with enthusiasm; 3 Kennedy’s Strabathie Dextor.
JB 1 Binks’ Cishelvine Just This Once, 9 months brindle puppy, & what a lovely baby she was. Super temperament, taking everything in her stride, not fazed by anything & did not stop wagging her tail. She has a correct, houndy head, but still retains femininity, & a dark almond shaped eye. Her forequarters are nicely constructed, prominent pro-sternum, well filled in forechest that has good width through. Her shoulders are well laid back. Ribs are well sprung & carried well back into a short loin, her rearquarters are broad & well developed, with “hammy” thighs & a good bend of stifle. She stands on good bone, has a nice wire jacket & moved around the ring with reach & drive, elbows neatly tucked in by her side maintaining her topline & was true moving out & back. A lovely baby, with a super temperament & I hope she continues to mature well. BP, RBB. PGB 1 McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Bellissima, 22 months brindle bitch, correct head shape & proportions, almond shaped eye & strong jaw. She has a lovely balanced outline, prominent forechest, shoulders well laid back, good width through brisket & well sprung ribbing that is carried back to a strong short loin, a broad well developed rump, “hammy” thighs & a good bend of stifle. She has a good wire jacket that was well presented, strong bone & moved around the ring with reach & drive, elbows neatly tucked in, maintaining her topline & was true & parallel moving out & back.
