Puppy Dog (3, 0)

1st) Adams’ Wyldetarn Shoot From The Hip, lovely baby of just 6 months but rather mature for age and a big lad - looking the finished article. Lovely head and typical expression, ears set well and used happily all the time. Good forequarters and neat forelegs, well ribbed back and strong in loin. Firm topline and well set tail, carried happily and wagging constantly. Very sound on the move, using his hocks well when driving away and returning true in front. Well presented in a good harsh jacket. Happy to award him BPIB.

2nd) Eldred’s Derledash Clyde, a month older than the above, but not nearly so forward. Typical in most respects, and also very nice. Good to go over and very much of a piece. Particularly liked his proportions and balance, not the firmness of above in hind movement which cost him.

3rd) Seth’s Davidsghyll Iron Raven

Junior Dog (2, 1)

1st) Baxter’s Hotwire Firecracker, 17 months old and a real firecracker! Liked him for shape and outline and overall quality. Good head, super pigment and dentition and well shaped eyes, excellent strength to muzzle lending itself well to the overall balance of his head. Shoulders could be slightly better but elbows were good. Neat ribbing and good brisket, short enough loin and firm topline. Moved with good style, sound away and back and lovely in profile. Happy to award him RBD.

2nd) McCarthy-Booth and McCarthy’s Ambiesque Apollo Von Jarhiba, giving 3 months away in age to above and particularly noticeable in body. Expressive and keen, relatively well balanced and good angulation, not the harsh jacket of above and not as precise either in hind or front movement. He was however, very well handled and presented.

Post Graduate Dog (1, 0)

1st) Arthurs’ Hototo’s Bark At The Moon, almost two years old and very nice so surprised to find him still in post graduate. Best of the males for shape and outline, good ground clearance and overall balance. Very much of a piece and good to go over, keenest of expressions with his dark well shaped eyes lending themselves to this. Liked his balance of muzzle and foreface, enough skull and ears well set. Shoulders well laid and good return of upper arm, feet well placed and elbows neatly fitting. Good backline and underline, well ribbed back and strong loin. Tail set well and carried with great glee, firm hammy hindquarters and neat hocks. Strutted his stuff well on the move, showing off his muscular condition, excellent ground coverage moving with good verve away and back, and full of self-assuredness in profile. Presented in A1 jacket and of great texture. Happy to award BD but beaten to the finishing line in the end by a really lovely young junior bitch.

Open Dog (2, 0)

1st) Baxter’s Cishelvine Red Admiral, very nice 5 year old chap, very typical and typy in head and expression, just a shade too long in body for balance and could use himself better when stood. Very sound both directions and very happy, just not the outline I was looking for today, and pipped to the post by his younger kennelmate for RBD.

2nd) Baldwin’s Aventine Scotts Bluff, over 3 years the opposite of the above and being shorter in body, nor had he the head of Red Admiral, I preferred the eye shape and expression of Red Admiral. He was however, superbly presented and expertly handled to move with good verve away and back, not the profile movement of Red Admiral but a nice chap overall.

Puppy Bitch (3, 1)

1st) Chambers’ Tendrow Black Pearl With Hototo, sweet little baby of 9 months with a rather chubby outline but so delicious! Expressive head and eye, good pigment and super bite, nice balance to foreface with enough strength at this age and for a bitch. Shoulders well laid and good return of upperarm, neat bellows. Stands on good legs and feet. Firm topline, good ribbing and neat underline. Nicely angled rear and good muscle for age, moves with good style away and back and nice in profile. Not the finish of the BPD which cost her later, but lovely.

2nd) Eldred’s Kissdachs Baily Luxury at Derdledash (Imp) almost a year old but not as forward as Black Pearl in body or movement. Good eye and pigment, well set ears and balanced foreface. Shoulders could be slightly better but decent upperarm and forelegs, nice ribbing and fairly short loin, could carry more body to advantage and not the firmness in rear or front of Black Pearl. Good harsh jacket for age and enjoyed her showing.

Junior Bitch (4, 2)

1st) Hutching’s Tendrow I Am The One from Collidach, just over a year old and really scrummy! So beautifully balanced in head and so keen in expression, super eye and ears well set and used to advantage. Very much of a piece and so good to go over, each part fitting neatly into the next, boasts good angles front and rear, good brisket and forechest, lovely ribbing, carries just the right amount of body. Moves with great reach and drive off neat hocks, happy and draws the eye in profile. Presented in super nick and jacket, and handled to best advantage. She was the one today, and I was delighted to award her and her sporting handler BB and later BOB. Good luck, will watch her progress with interest.

2nd) Baxter’s Hotwire Twist N Sprout, close up to one and similar in most respects, little to separate them really today and she is also very nice, preferred the movement on the go around of above as she carried herself better and with more style away and back, Twist N Sprout was also quality and happy to award her and her equally sporting handler RBB and RBOB. Sure she will have many great days on this form.

Post Graduate Bitch (3, 1)

1st) Hutching’s Tendrow I Am The One from Collidach, see above.

2nd) Eldred’s Brimalodge Amiety, 3.5 years old and a bitch of good honest type. A good head though perhaps a little fine in muzzle and rather round in eye but good pigment, could have slightly better shoulders and neater forelegs, enough ribbing but loin could be shorter, good topline, tail well set and carried happily, in hard muscular condition and a credit to her owner in this respect. Handled with sympathy, and a pretty sound mover away and back, enjoying her day.

Limit Bitch (2, 1)

1st) Brimarville Honey Bun, almost five and looking great – still behaving like a puppy! She presents a good outline, lovely balance to her head, intelligent expression, good angles front and rear, stands on good legs and feet though she could make more of herself on the ground. Could also be slightly firmer in topline and coat was a little soft which edged her out later, but she was a lovely girl and presented and handled in first class condition by her sporting owner who showed a great team of happy dachshunds today.
