A very good entry, thank you.
Some promising puppies which would have benefitted from a
minor puppy class. I think that length and body proportions
in some of the entry need watching. I found some too long
and without sufficient ground clearance for my
interpretation of the standard. But there were plenty of
positives and some closely contested classes. Many thanks to
my stewards who were really excellent especially in the move
indoors to the wet weather tent. The dog critiques, written
in the drizzle are a little brief; my apologies.
PD (7) 1 Akehurst’s Boloria All Spice
10 months old brindle. I liked his size, balance and proportions.
Needs a touch more upper arm. Good head type and good coat. 2
Eldred’s Derdledash Naughty Neptune. 6 months old and raw, but I
liked the size and the shape which was kept on the move A lot of
promise. 3 Mountford’s Incordemeo Beetle About.
JD (3, 1) 1 Dean’s Brontillow King Of
Cups. 14 months, who is maximum length but has good front assembly
resulting in good front action and he holds good topline. Foreface a
touch long for balance. In good coat. 2 Maher’s Mhargleton Sir
Ginger Snaps. 10 months old, still raw and needing to fill out. He
has good proportions but needs to settle in topline. He was more
collected here after being rushed into his first class.
YD (4) 1 Smith’s Salixian Russian
Caravan. 22 months. I liked his type and proportions and excellent
hard coat. Good head. Needs a little more front angulation. Very
good rear and topline. 2 Hutchings & Price’s Collidach Percy Cute At
Samlane. 18 months, different type being longer but his topline was
good on the moved and he was a very good coat. I liked his head and
eye. Could have a longer ribcage. 3 Horne’s Salixian Moroccan Mint.
PD (4) 1 Matthews’ Stanegate Billy The
Kid At Sonham JW. Comfortable winner of this class for proportions
and ground clearance. Excellent coat. Full of type. 2 Tinker-Haldane’s
Dollydash Never Enough. 2 year old shown too heavy and detracting
from his forehand. Won this place on ribbing and coat. 3 Hunt’s
Weinacht Larch At Drakkina JW.
LD (9, 1) Best class of the day for
depth of quality. 1 Carruthers’ Aikton Alexander At Stanegate. Took
the eye immediately for his outline, ground clearance and balance.
Carried himself well and really uses his quarters. Quality head.
Well boned and ribs carried well back. In lovely coat. CC & BOB. 2
McCalmont’s Silvae Timekeeper. Hard to separate these two. Just 18
months and not fully finished but I liked him enormously. Good size
and proportions. Scored in eye over the winner but not as mature in
body yet or as steady. RCC. 3 McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Mr
Wilks JW.
OD (6, 2) 1 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae
Trader. 3 year old, all male in head and outlook, strongly boned and
a good mover. I would prefer him a little more compact, he is
maximum length for my interpretation. A very good mover. 2 Vine’s
Cishelvine Caught Out. I liked the proportions of this dog and he
went well. Not in his best coat. 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Here’s Lookin
At You.
PB (11, 2) Good class. 1 Rowe’s
Boloria Nice’n Spicy. Stood out here, at 10 months the most finished
and collected and full of quality. 2 Garratt’s Fowlerheights Hot
Wired At Marchmanor. 6 months red, raw but full of promise. Well put
together and with an excellent coat, good head and eye. Carrying too
much weight which showed in her topline but I liked her a lot. 3
Eldred’s Derdledash Shining Star.
JB (5, 1) 1 Howe’s Kissdachs Diva At
Bramalodge. I liked her a lot for her proportions, ribcage extending
well back. Has good headpiece. With her good angulation she moved
really well. In very good coat. 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Cordelia. 14
months, of lovely size. Beautiful head, eye and expression. Just
coming into good coat. Excellent proportions but needs a little less
weight on her. 3 Dickinson’s Derdledash Dakota.
YB (4, 1) 1 Davies’ Atahira Dolciami.
19 months red, scoring in ribcage and front action to win this class
decision. I liked her head and eye. Needs a harder coat. 2
Hutchings’ Collidach Brook Ling. Better coated bitch of good
proportions and has a lot of quality and a good outline. Needs more
body and can tighten up in front. 3 Hunt’s Boloria’s Tetley’s Tea
Cake At Drakkina.
PGB (9, 1) 1 Howe’s Bramalodge Billie
Jean. 2 year old with very good outline, excellent coat and good
head and eyes. Carried herself well which won her this class
decision. Excellent ribbing and quarters. I’d prefer a little more
length to upper arm but she is a very good bitch. 2 McPherson &
Paterson’s Brumberhill Biscotti. Looked my winner standing and she
was very good to go over of beautiful proportions and construction
and scored in forechest over the winner. Excellent coat. She was
very unsettled in the tent and didn’t move at her best. Pity. 3
Carter’s Wyreview Robyn.
LB (7, 3) 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Sky
Dancer. Quality bitch of maximum length but well ribbed and with
firm topline. Excellent legs and feet. In superb coat and moved very
well. 2 Binks’ Tannahill Day Dreamer. I liked the size and
proportions of this bitch who was not in her best coat on the day.
Head has a little too much stop. Carried herself well, but not as
good in front action. 3 Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Kiss From A Rose
JW.
OB (4) 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Fan
Dancer. 2 year old of lovely size proportions and shape. Feminine,
with strong bone, good ribbing and shown in excellent coat. Good
stride and topline. CC. In the challenge she was not as settled as
the dog. 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Helena. I liked her size and
proportions, movement and carriage. Good head. I’d prefer just a
little more ground clearance and just coming into good coat, but
liked her type very much. RCC. 3 Rowe’s Boloria’s Trick Or Treat JW.
VB (2) 1 Howlett & Prowting’s
Boloria’s Arabella. 7 years, in superb coat and holding her shape
well. Good front assembly giving good reach. Very typy. 2 Eldred’s
Bramalodge Amiety At Derdledash. Another good veteran. I liked her
proportions and ground clearance but not moving as firmly as the
winner.
