I would like to thank the Scottish Dachshund club for the opportunity to judge these classes at their Championship show on October 24th, I had a lovely day. Thanks to all who entered and showed under me and to the stewards and committee.

51 Wire-haired Dachshund Veteran

Eldred’s BRAMALODGE AMIETY AT DERDLEDASH

Lovely fit veteran with good head in profile, correct ear set and dark eye. Clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Topline could have a little more muscle, underline good with long keel and ground clearance, balanced front and rear.

Best veteran in show.

52 Wire-haired Dachshund  puppy Dog or Bitch

1st.Wilson’s STANEGATE KATIE BROWN AT WILLOWASH

Good hound head, shoulders good for age but should fall back with time. Angulation good, keel nice and long with good ground clearance, ribbing long, rear matching front.

2nd. Eldred’s DERDLEDASH SHINING STAR

Nice youngster, shoulder will fall back with maturity. Lovely length of neck. Topline and underline not as good as 1st’s but I’m sure this will also improve with maturity.

3rd, Eldred’s DERDLEDASH NAUGHTY NEPTUNE

53 Wire-haired Dachshund Junior Dog or Bitch

1st.Dean’s BRONTILLOW YAN TAN TETHERA

Pleasing head with clean neck and good front angulation, keel of very good length accompanied with lovely underline and topline. Good depth of chest and ribbing. Rear also had good angulation. Feet correct and moved well.

2nd. Dickinson’s DERDLEDASHDAKOTA AT DAKOTADAX

Prefer the type of head on 1st, good length of keel. Chest still to deepen. Good length of ribbing, balanced rear and moved well.

54 Wire-haired Dachshund Post graduate Dog

1st.Tinker-Haldane’s DOLLYDASH NEVER ENOUGH

An honest hound of good breed type. Good head with dark eye and good ear placement. Underline and topline correct. Rear correct with good angulation, moved well and well presented in good hard muscle.

2nd. Baker’s TILSTOCK LEO

A little broad in skull for me accompanied by shorter ears and slightly rounder eye. Angulation good with decent layback. Moved well but a little unsettled on the table.

55 Wire-haired Dachshund Limit Dog

1st.Dean’s BRONTILLOW KING OF CUPS

Regal head with great presence and dark eye. Neck of good length. Layback good with decent length of upper arm. Topline and underline correct. Rear matching in balance with front. Tail set correct and moved well. Presented in fabulous coat and condition.

Reserve dog also.

56 Wire-haired Dachshund Open Dog

1st. Hutching’s COLLINDACH PERCY CUTE AT SAMLANE

Really loved this youngster. Handsome head, dark eye of correct almond shape. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Chest of good depth, long keel, moved well with presence but a little raw at this time but I’m sure will mature nicely.

Also Best dog.

57 Wire-haired Dachshund Post graduate Bitch

1st.Eldred’s DOLLYDASH MOON BEAM

Beautiful feminine bitch. Hound head without being masculine. A decent neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Topline and underline correct. Ribbingdeep and carried well back. Rear lovely on move but a little overstretched on table. A youngster I will be watching as I’m sure will go on to do good things in the future.

Reserve best bitch also.

2nd. Bakers’s ALLFREYS HENRIETTA

Smart head in profile but a little broad in the skull for me. Dark eyes, neck of good length running into well angulated shoulders with matching rear. Topline correct but underline hard to assess as carrying a little too much weight at this time. Moved well and pleasant on table. Coat could do with a little work to complete her look

59 Wire-haired Dachshund Open Bitch

1st. Hutching’s COLLINDACH BROOK LING

Very smart red bitch with beautiful conical hound head. Dark eye and good pigmentation. Neck of good length flowing into shoulders with good angulation. Topline good on the move. Underline sweeping and correct. Rear balanced with good muscle tone and moved well in all directions. Well presented in fabulous coat.

Best bitch
