Thank you for the invitation to judge Dachshunds at this efficiently run dog show in a fantastic new venue in beautiful Scotland. Well done to the committee for all their hard work and to all the exhibitors who evidently had great relationships with their dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and loved my Best of Breed winners, who went on to receive some of the top honours of the day.

GD/B (1) 1 Tinker-Haldane’s Dollydash Never Enough. Four year old male with beautiful head with correct proportions and classic wire expression. Great depth of chest and moderate length of ribbing. Moved around the ring with ease and could easily do a day’s hunting. RBD.

PG (2) 1 Carruthers’ Stanegate Calamity Jane. Three old bitch with feminine head and correct wire expression. Beautiful neck into correct laid back shoulders. Good ground clearance and well sprung ribs reaching back into moderately angulated rear. Free moving around the ring confidently. RBB. 2 Tinker-Haldane’s Dollydash Never Enough.

OD (3, 1) 1 Carruthers’ Ch Aikton Alexander At Stanegate. Stunning three year old who caught my eye when entered the ring. Oozed breed type for a Wire with the outline I love in a Dachshund. Strong head with correct proportions. Elegant neck into well laid back shoulder and super front construction. Excellent length of ribbing and top line into correct turn of stifle rear. Moved with ease around the ring. BD and BOB. 2 Tinker-Haldane’s Dollydash Never Enough.

OB (1) 1 Binks’ Tannahill Day Dreamer. Well put together three year old in great coat. Correct head proportions with elegant neck. Great depth of chest and well sprung ribs reaching well back into moderate rear. Moved well with handler front and back. BB.

V (1) 1 Carruthers’ Ch Brumberhill Bellina. Eight year old bitch who is is looking great. Beautiful outline with correct head proportions. Correct front construction and super top line stacked. Moved freely around the ring, just a little closer behind. RBB and BV.
