I was delighted with an entry of 127.......thanks to the exhibitors for the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions.    Some placings were very close decisions particularly the later classes in both sexes.  I thought some exhibits were a little on the large side, a few level bites but coat presentation on the whole was excellent.

Just one little thing.......I wish handlers wouldn't bait their Dachshunds so much on the table, it makes it difficult to assess them as they wriggle around looking for the food.

Very pleased to see my BOB awarded Best in Show, my BP awarded Best Puppy in Show and my BV awarded Best Veteran in Show.

A nicely organised show,  thanks to my stewards and the lady who catered for lunch did a super job......it was delicious!

Veteran Dog/Bitch (9)

1.   Howlett & Prowting's  BOLORIA'S ARABELLA.   This spritely 8 year old headed a lovely class of golden oldies!   She still maintains a balanced outline both stacked and on the move, she excels in her keel & ribbing with tight elbows, sound forehand and quarters.  Her movement was positive & parallel and she was handled well to get the best out of her.   Best Veteran and Best Veteran in Show.

2.   Hastings' LESANDNIC SLEEPYTIME ShCM.  Nothing sleepy about this girl as she moved and showed beautifully,  very feminine with a lovely front assembly, firm topline with good length of ribbing, sound movement fore & aft.

3.   Eldred's BRAMALODGE AMIETY AT DERDLEDASH.

Good Citizen Dog Scheme (2,1a)

1.   Ellis' VIXENDAX EXTRAVAGANZA.   9 month puppy bitch, nice head shape with dark eyes, neat front with tight elbows & sufficient pro-sternum, well ribbed but she tucks up a little in her loin and I would like to see more strength in her quarters.

Minor Puppy Dog (2,1a)

1.   Baldwin's AVENTINE JOSS MERLYN.   This young man has a lovely happy temperament which showed in his movement,  he is a tad immature and needs to drop through & tighten up but he has a lovely head & expression, good length of neck & back with excellent ribbing that is carried well back,  his coat is coming along nicely.

Puppy Dog (6)

1.   Shaw's TENDROW WILL I AM.   Super red of 10 months, nicely constructed with well laid shoulders, sound front assembly, strong topline of correct length, well turned stifles, well balanced all through & just the right size,  excellent coat, he moved out well with drive.   Best Puppy Dog.

2.   Mease' BAREMBAK QUILL.  Masculine boy with several qualities but he's a little overdone for me, he has a good head properties,  lengthy neck that follows through to a deep keel & long ribbing, he moved soundly and had parallel movement fore & aft.
