I enjoyed my day with the Wires and
thank you, exhibitors, for a pleasing entry of typy Dachshunds who
were in good condition and had steady temperaments. A few coats were
“on the blow” but this will always be thus in a coated breed! All
mouths had the correct bite with clean dentition: soundness,
musculature and furnishings were generally very good. Dog CC & BOB
was Carruthers’ Ch Aikton Alexander at Stanegate, wild boar, this
excellent hound took my attention immediately for his overall breed
type and quality, beautifully put-together with his crisp coat and
accompanying furnishings adding to the picture, masculine without
any coarseness, good ground clearance, correct head and expression,
well-developed keel, sturdy legs and feet, correct angles fore and
aft, exemplary ribbing and powered round the ring with true action
front and rear. He was an excellent representative of the variety in
a strong Group where he was placed Gp 4. Res Dog CC was Seath’s
Sunsong Fire Opal, wild boar, another masculine hound out of the top
drawer, close up to the one above and similar in style and make &
shape, harsh coat, good furnishings, attractive head and eye,
lengthy neck allowing for a balanced outline, prominent keel and
ribbing extending back to a firm short loin, sound legs and feet,
topline and underline in harmony, ground clearance correct and moved
with purpose. Should make the grade. Bitch CC was Phillips’ Tendrow
Turns the Right Page, red, most lovely bitch who is sweetly feminine
but very much a hound, beautiful head and expression, elegant
neckline, prominent keel and best of legs and feet, well developed
ribcage carrying well back to a short strong loin, topline and
underline match each other and once settled moved with purpose. I
was told I awarded a CC to her grandfather! Res Bitch CC was Moore &
Downes’ Ch Megline Bohemian Rhapsody, wild boar, this is another
beautiful quality bitch close up to the one above and no doubt these
two will change places with each other in the future; excellent head
properties, sweet expression, strong keel and attractive neckline,
best of legs and feet, correct ribbing and loin, balanced topline
and underline & ground clearance. Good coat texture and moved with
drive. Best Puppy was Moore & Dean’s Upor Von Huberhorn with
Dierfiur (Imp) Rom, 6 month dark wild boar, promising well-matured
puppy who fits the standard very well with good height to length
proportions giving him a well-balanced outline, handsome head,
prominent keel, correct ribbing winning the class as a result of his
good movement front and rear.
PD (6/1) 1 UV H with Dierfiur (Imp)
Rom. 2 Adams’ Ellesophia Fly Me to the Moon, 10 months wild boar,
another respectable puppy with an attractive overall outline,
masculine without coarseness, correct head and eye, prominent keel,
sound limbs and feet, good extended ribcage, short loin, topline and
underline balanced; preferred the hind action of the one above. 3
Turner’s Hototo Rocket Man.
JD (7,1) 1 Maes-Jones & Bate’
Derochaise Blue Danube (AY3), 12 months wild boar, impressed in the
class a result of his overall make and shape, correct head and eye,
good neckline, sound front and feet, adequate ground clearance, and
the best mover in the class. Would not want him any bigger. 2
Paterson & McPherson’s Ambiesque Avant, 13 months wild boar,
attractive headpiece and good neckline, sound legs and feet, correct
angles front & rear; while I preferred this hound for size, I
preferred the winner’s more developed ribbing and loin. 3 Best’s
Stanegate Set Em Up Joe for Bestina.
PGD (2/0)1/Horne’s Salixian Moroccan
Mint, wild boar, soundly constructed and honest hound of an ideal
size, correct head and eye, good neckline and all of a piece in
construction with a harsh jacket. 2 Mountford’s Incordemeo Beetle
About, black and tan, longer and lower in style to the one above,
attractive head, prominent keel and moved well. Preferred the feet
of the one above.
LD (5) 1 Graham’s Stanegate Shot in
the Dark JW, wild boar, & 2 McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Mr
Wilks JW, wild boar; I admired both of these Dachshunds who are
fairly similar in outline and who could well change places, both
have attractive heads, good coats, correct keels, proper angulation
fore and aft, good toplines and moved with similar action. I
preferred the ribbing and loin of the first. 3 Osbourne’s Derochaise
Vincenzo Di Braego.
OD (4,1)1 Ch A. A. at Stanegate. 2 S.
F. Opal. 3 Phillips’ Ch Royal Pepper’s Vice Versa (Imp Fin).
SBD/B (2)1 S M Mint. 2 Mountford’s
Incordemeo My Story, sweet black & tan who gave a good account of
herself, pretty head, good keel and ribbing and has a balanced
outline. Preferred the coat texture of the one above.
PB (11,2) 1 Binks’ Cloudside Uluru TAF,
dark wild boar, lovely typy 7 months bitch who is most promising,
she has true breed type and already a certain amount of ring
presence, sweetly feminine head, well developed keel and ribbing,
sound legs and feet and presents a pleasing balanced outline. Moved
well. 2 Wilson’s Stanegate Salsa at Willowash TAF, wild boar, close
up to the one above, another pretty and typy 7 month bitch who is
also promising, attractive head and expression, correctly
constructed forequarters and hindquarters, ribbing extends well back
and moved truly. The first covered a little more ground on the move.
3/Beagrie’s Ellesophia Light The Way to Feldhund.
JB (9 )1 Paterson’s Ambiesque Ava,
wild boar, lovely 7 month quality bitch of some style, sweet head,
elegant neckline, well developed keel, adequate ground clearance and
harsh jacket. Moved correctly. Just needs to develop a bit in
ribbing. 2 Phillips’ Tendrow Turns Over The Page, sweet 14 months
black & tan bitch, close up to the one above, admirable head and
lovely expression, reachy neck, sound forehand and prominent keel,
ribbing extends well back and presents a well-proportioned outline.
Just preferred the coat of the one above. 3 Wilson’s Stanegate Katie
Brown at Willowash.
PGB (4)1 Mountford’s Tendrow Special
Creation, red & 2 Eldred’s Derdledash Moon Beam; apart from colour
these two bitches are very similar in outline and it was difficult
to separate them; both are right for size, have attractive heads and
are soundly constructed with correct angles, both also moved and
showed well and could easily change places. Just preferred the
movement of the first - by a whisker! 3 Brierley’s Bramalodge
Bonfire Heart at Tatze.
LB (4,1) 1 Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel
Kiss From a Rose JW, dark wild boar, elegant bitch with a sweet head
and becoming expression, good reach of neck, sound forequarters and
well-developed keel, correct ribbing with a pleasing balanced
outline and correct movement. 2 Rowe’s Boloria Nice’N Spicy JW, wild
boar, attractive bitch close-up to the one above and could well
change places, attractive typy head, elegant neckline, good ribbing
and loin, body covered all over with the required harsh jacket. The
first moved with a fraction more hind drive. 3 Davies’ Atahira
Dolciami.
OB (4)1 T. T. the Right Page. 2 Ch M.
B. Rhapsody. 3/Rowe’s Boloria’s Trick or Treat JW.
VB (1) 1 Eldred’s Bramalodge Amiety,
wild boar in super condition for her 8.5 years, lovely head and
expression, lengthy neck, good keel, sound legs and feet, admirable
ribbing, angulation front and rear spot on and moved like a
youngster.
