May I firstly thank the committee for asking me to judge at their very well organised and run show. It is always an honour to be asked to judge a breed especially at a breed show but it is the exhibitors that give me the biggest honour to go over and judge their precious dogs. Thank you to all of the exhibitors I ws spoiled with such a good quality entry. One thing that I would like to say is on the subject of long nails. The reason I mention this is because the feet are so important in the working job of the Dachshund. Many exhibits had long nails causing very flat feet and pasterns to be down. Otherwise the dogs presented to me were all of good temper, mainly in good coat and of a very high standard. Thank you

Veteran Dog or Bitch (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1 st/BV: PHILLIPS Ch Tendrow A Page in Time – A lovely Red, 8 year old bitch. Very pretty head of correct shape with a lovely dark almond eye, nicely placed small ears. This girl has a super fore chest, lay of shoulder, tight elbows, lovely ribbing and short loin. Well presented in harsh coat. Moved very well and true throughout. 2nd: SEATH Nor Ch Gando AV Larhjelm (Imp Nor) A very close decision with 1. A lovely 7.5yr old Wild Boar Bitch. Shown in a super harsh wire jacket. Correct head shape and eye shape. Ears well set. A good forechest, well ribbed with a short loin. Super hind quarters nicely angulated and hocks let down. Moved well with good drive.
Minor Puppy Dog (1 /0) BPDD/BPIB 1st: JACKSON Elderkine Special Brew. A cracking 8 months old Red Male puppy, he is just the full package. His coat is harsh and presented well. He has a beautiful head, of correct shape, excellent dark eye of almond shape with a gorgeous expression. Good length of neck, well ribbed with a short loin. Fabulous rear angulation which he used fully to drive himself along on the move whilst holding a steady top line.
Puppy Dog (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: RUSSELL & HUTCHINGS Collidach Russell Leeves Another cracking Red Male puppy at 9 months old. This boy is very well balanced with a good harsh jacket. His head is of correct shape with lovely dark almond eyes, ears placed well and of good size. The fore chest is fabulous, he has good lay of shoulder, good length of keel, good top line, nicely angulated in the rear quarters. Moved well with enthusiasm holding a steady top line.

Post Graduate Dog (3/0) BD/BOS/1st SANDERS Just Lennys Choc Chip by Knottsrose – I really liked this dog, he is well balanced throughout, Dapple in colour and has good bone. Head shape is correct as is his eye shape. Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulder, his elbows sit well and has good length of upper arm. Good rib length and a short loin. Well angulated rear quarters. Good strong feet. Presented in good coat. Moved well fore and aft keeping super balance and holding his top line. 2nd APPS Calicoe Just Me – Another lovely boy that is well balanced and very pleasing to the eye. He is of good size and shape showing good top and underlines. He has good front assembly, good length of neck, well ribbed with a short loin. His hind quarters are well angulated. Moved very well. 3rd TURNER & MERRIFIELD Boloria Mr Moonlight.

Good length of neck, leading to well laid shoulders, excellent front angulation with good length of upper arm. Well ribbed, good length of keel, short loin. His hind quarters are well angulated with hocks well let down. Moved with enthusiasm & animation showing good drive.
Open Dog (4/0) 1st: SEATH Sunsong Fire Opal – A dog of good size and width, in good harsh coat. Correct shape of head with good dark almond eyes. Good length of neck leading to well angulated fore quarters. Good top line. Nicely angulated rear quarters. Moved well with good drive. 2nd: MEASE Barembak Quill – Another lovely boy, unfortunately with little coat today. Lovely, kind expression on a lovely hound shaped head with correct ear set. A superb, elegant front assembly on this boy with exquisite neck length & shoulder lay. Good length of keel, adequate rib length & good top line. Hind quarters are well angulated. Moved well fore & aft. 3rd: HUTCHINGS & PRICE Collidach Percy Cute at Samlane

Puppy Bitch (3/2) 1 st/BPB : ROWE Boloria Sugar N' Spice. A confident, 9 month old Wild Boar Bitch puppy. A puppy of correct size with good proportions. Correct head shape with a kind dark eye. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders. Good top & under line. Well angulated hind quarters. Good return of stifle and hocks well let down. She used her hind quarters well on the move holding her top line.
Junior Bitch (4/2) 1st: BINKS Cloudside Uluru. At just under a year old this pretty Wild Boar bitch had a lovely harsh wire jacket. She has a pretty hound head with a kind dark eye. Her neck length is good leading to well laid shoulders. She has good feet & good strong pasterns. Good length /height ratio. She moved very well 2nd:PARROTT Derochaise Blue Angel at Marondera. A smaller Wild Boar bitch, with a pretty hound head, good eye shape, correct ear set & ear size. Excellent length of neck, adequate front angulation with good length of upper arm. Shorter in rib than 1. Hind angulation is good & used it well on the move.
Yearling Bitch (3/1) 1st: HOWLETT & PHILLIPS Tendrow Makes the Right Turn JW – A mature young lady for her age, with a good harsh wire jacket. Pretty head with correct eye shape & colour. Lovely length of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Stands on good feet. Good top & under line. Well angulated hind quarters with good return of stifle, hocks well let down. Drove well on the move. 2nd: WALLER Lady in Roseyred. A very sweet little Wild Boar girl. She has an extremely kind expression, correct head & eye shape. Her coat has good depth but a little soft in places. She has good front construction, good length of neck, well laid shoulders, good ribbing with a short loin. Moved well holding her top line.
Post Graduate Bitch (2) 1 st, BB, BOB: PHILLIPS Tendrow I Am What I Am – I just loved this bitch, she is so well balanced. Shown in fabulous condition throughout. Good harsh Red jacket. Good top & underline. Lovely head of correct shape, nice dark pigment & dark eyes. Good length of neck, good lay of shoulder, good length of upper arm & nicely angulated. Good length of rib, short loin. Hind quarters well angulated, good return of stifle, well let down hocks. Stands on good feet. On the move she made full use of her well angulated rear to drive her along, the length of upper arm gave her good reach. I was very pleased to award her Best of Breed. 2nd: LEEKBLADE Boloria's Iced Gem. A dark Wild Boar bitch of good size. Nice harsh jacket, head of good shape, correct eye shape/colour. A little lower to ground than 1, Good length of neck leading well angulated, well placed shoulders. Moved well.
Limit Bitch (3/1) 1st: WALLER Tendrow Laced with Success. Another lovely bitch, shown in a good wire jacket. A pretty bitch of good size & shape. Pleasing head/eye, well set ears of correct size. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, good angulation in fore quarters, good strong feet. Nicely ribbed, good top & underline. Hind angulation is good with decent return of stifle. Moved true throughout. 2nd: SEATH Sunsong Keep Dreaming. A smaller bitch than 1 but very nicely put together. Looking good considering she has just had puppies. A good wire jacket. She has a lovely conical shaped head with a kind eye of correct shape. Nice length of neck, shoulders are well laid. Super top line, well angulated hind quarters. Stands on good feet. Moved well.

Super top & under line, very well angulated hind quarters with good return of stifle & hocks well let down. Stands on good feet. Very enthusiastic on the move, driving well. 2nd: PHILLIPS Tendrow I Am What I Am. A lovely Red bitch of correct size. Correct shaped head/eye, good length of neck, very nicely laid shoulders, good length of upper arm and tight elbows. Good rib length with a short loin. Really good hindquarters with super angulation, good return of stifle & hocks well let down. Top line not as strong as 1 on the day. Moved very true with reach & a powerful drive 3rd: TURNER & MERRIFIELD Cloudside Una
