After the sad events at Wetherby Racecourse on the original date, my congratulations go to this resourceful committee on managing to reschedule so promptly. It was a lovely atmosphere I thought, and to be assessing the exhibits in the late afternoon sunshine was such a pleasure. Unfortunately being later in the day did increase the absentee rate I suspect and of course the Groups at Darlington Show as well, congratulations to those involved in that.

I really enjoyed the entry and special thanks to Rachel for very efficient stewarding. There was one reverse scissor bite.

Dachshunds Wire Haired

MP  D   2

1st Beagrie’s Feldhund Moonlight- handsome wild boar in excellent, well prepared coat. Almond eye long head shape and set into long head, perhaps slightly long in muzzle just yet but still a baby. Well developed neck with slight arch and prominent forechest with well set shoulders and liked his corresponding hind angulation. Two to one proportions with good ground clearance and level topline. Happy  and free on the move and true fore and aft. So promising, BPD, BP and went on to BPIS under esteemed Judge Mr Daniel Roberts

2nd Smith’s Salixian Iorek – neatly made wild boar, again in super harsh straight coat. Head of equal  proportions and well held. Pleasing overall shape, slightly longer in back than winner I thought, which although an active mover, just caused him to tend to hollow his back a little.

1ST Feldhund Moonlight

J  D  2

I really liked these two adolescents who are both maturing into top class hounds and I really wish them both well, the best is yet to come I think.

1st Moore’s Cloudside Vincent - this smashing young dog has a handsome head with equidistant muzzle to skull ratio, dark almond eye, high set ear and strong jaw. Proud carriage on strong neck  with pronounced prosternum. Well placed shoulders with corresponding angulation at rear. Level topline and well ribbed up, strong, short loin. I liked his overall proportions and nicely rounded rear.  Good size to feet so well boned. Super harsh, short wild boar jacket. Legs parallel front and rear on the move, with length to stride and with drive. CC

2nd Binks’ Tannahill Wild Day- wild boar in super order and to be honest a lot of the same remarks apply. Great outline and proportions, super mover true front and rear, well presented. I just felt that for me he was very slightly shorter in length of rib than winner. RCC

PG  D  2(1)

1ST Christie’s Cloudside Valentino At Decalleigh – smartly turned out wild boar, with harsh wire coat. Masculine head of conical shape, dark, almond eye. Well muscled all through with slightly arched neck and topline held. Shoulders well laid, hind angulation just not quite equal I thought. Moved true fore and aft but rear movement appearing slightly less than the reach in front today

L  D  4(1)

1st Eldred’s Derdledash Naughty Neptune JW – black with correctly placed tan markings. Well shaped tapering head with typical wire ridges. Clean strong neck and pleasing angulation front and rear. Good ground clearance but would prefer a little more length to body for ideal proportions. Super straight hard coat and moved parallel in front and behind with drive.

2nd Horne’s Salixian Moroccan Mint  - wild boar with skull and muzzle of good ratio and strong enough in neck. Prosternum well pronounced and fair length to ribbing. Perhaps rather up on the leg and front pasterns a little soft but again moved true. Harsh jacket.

3rd Hunt’s Weinacht Larch At Drakkina JW

O  D  3(1)

1st Ord and Ainsley’s Cloudside Sebastien At Marnadee – masculine head of good proportions, almond eye, powerful jaw. Shoulders set a little far forward I felt but enough prosternum. Strong in bone and full, deep feet. Topline level and ribbing well back and with good ground clearance. Rounded rump, quite widebehind, moved actively. Well presented wild boar coat, hard and straight.

2nd Salixian Moroccan Mint

SB  D/B  4(1)

1st Salixian Moroccan Mint

2nd May and Ball’s Wyreview Olympia – pretty bitch, quite narrow through tapering head. Plenty forefront and good shape and proportions just would prefer a little more length to ribbing. Hard wiry jacket and moved freely.

3rd Eldred and Dickinson’s Dakotadax Check Mate JW

MP  B  5

1ST Downie’s Tannahill Thalia- attractive black and tan in the harshest of jackets. Feminine head, skull and muzzle equidistant and intelligent expression in almond shaped eye. Strong in jaw, clean throat and nicely arched neck. Liked her front and length to ribbing with strong, short loin. Well boned with broad, deep feet. Rear angulation corresponding to front, long croup. So active and free on the move, parallel front and rear, one to watch. BPB

2nd Dickinson’s Derdledash Skyfall At Dakotadash – another cracking bitch presented in great order. Head pleased for balance and eye shape, flowed from nape of neck to tail. Well ribbed and proportioned. Wild boar hard flat coat. True on the move, just a little less active than winner. Another one to watch.

3rd Smith’s Salixian Gracious Wings

P  B  5(1)

1ST Derdledash Skyfall At Dakotadash

2nd Moore and Downes’ Romanchi Night At The Opera – beautifully presented wild boar, slightly longer in muzzle than skull I felt but almond eye shape and high set ear. Good prosternum, well laid shoulder and long in ribbing. True mover though perhaps a little wide behind, free striding

3rd Beagrie’s Feldhund Show The Way

J  B  4(2)

1ST Arthurs’ Elderkine Austen – chocolate  who pleased for overall balance and proportions, with good ground clearance. Conical head and almond eye, good reach to neck, well boned. Decent length to sternum and held topline. True mover front and rear and with drive.

2nd Binks’ Ut It Doarp Bonnie At Tannahill (Imp NLD) – smaller made black and tan again with pleasing head and good general proportions. Level topline, well held. Just felt her a little over angulated at rear compared to winner. Active mover.

Y  B  4(2)

1ST Hunt’s Drakkina Wirenth – feminine head but with punishing jaw and skull and muzzle of matching length. Good layback of shoulder and sternum reaching well back so short, strong loin and resulting level topline. Chocolate hard jacket and well boned. Moved briskly and actively , parallel fore and aft.

2nd Howe’s Bramalodge Baby I’m Yours – black and tan who also pleased for typical head shape and balance. Decent body proportions but front feet turning out just a little more than ideal for me. Moved steadily.

PG  B  5(3)

1ST McPherson and Paterson’s Brumberhill Barbed Wire – classy bitch with skull and muzzle of equal length, almond, dark eye and high head carriage on good length of neck. Compact but with good length to height proportions, and correct ground clearance. Pronounced prosternum and super length to sternum well ribbed back and with corresponding front and rear angulation. In well presented wild boar harsh coat, she moved with long strides and true both ends. RCC

2nd Graham’s Boloria Wild Spice JW – another beauty in super order, conical head and almond eye. Reach to neck and topline held level. Coat well presented. For me, I would just have preferred a little more length in body. Moved briskly and parallel.

L  B  5(1)

1ST Moore and Dean Brontillow Canterbury Bell To Dierfiur- lovely head of conical shape and eye with intelligent expression. Head held high on long clean neck flowing in well laid back shoulders and level topline. Prominent breastbone and well ribbed back. Short, strong loin and rounded rear. Proportions two to one and with front and rear angulation in balance. Strong bone and good sized feet.  Wild boar harsh jacket. Excelled on the move, drive from rear and reach in front and parallel in front and behind. BCC and BOB

2nd Eldred’s Derdledash Moon Beam – wild boar with attractive head and compact, well muscled body. Shoulders laid back, with oval ribbing, just would prefer a bit more length to sternum. Full rump and has balnced hind angulation to fore.  Moved out and back true and freely in profile.
