HUTCHINGS Tendrow I Am The One From Collidach JW
Thank you to the committee of Lancashire And Cheshire Dachshund Club for my first appointment to award CC’s in standard wires within the UK. Thank you to my steward Sandra who assisted in keeping the ring moving along and to the exhibitors for the gracious way in which my placings were accepted, and the sportsmanship shown.
I was looking for a hound that was fit for purpose and could do what it was originally intended to do. The ring was a generous size enabled which made assessment of movement an easy task.
I felt that the variety in general is in a very good place, I could have awarded several CC’s in both dogs and bitches. Temperaments overall were excellent, with only a couple that were a little hesitate on the table. All exhibits were presented to a very high standard, coats have definitely improved in the breed and it was pleasing to note that teeth on the whole were generally clean and nails short.
A couple of mouths unfortunately were incorrect, and this affected their placings on the day. Breeders, please look closely at this, as you don’t want to have this issue coming through in the next generations. Please think about your breeding programme carefully and perhaps if your looking at future potential matings you should take dentation into consideration.
However, overall, I feel that the breed is certainly in a very positive place, breeders you should congratulate yourself on this.
Minor Puppy Dog 4 – 1 absentee.
1. Rowe, Bolaria Goodnight Mr Tom – BPD an extremely well handled and presented baby puppy, cooperated extremely well for one so young. Lovely balanced outline, beautiful head, oval eye with a nice neck into well placed shoulders. Correct front, with a good underline, good ribbing, and muscle tone for a youngster. No exaggeration at all on this baby and I am sure when he settles will a bright future.
2. Beagrie, Feldhund Moonlight – Once again a lot to like on this exhibit. Excellent presented harsh coat, a lot of the same comments above also apply to this youngster. Was just not as confident on the move today and need to settle in topline. I am sure that this will come with age.
Puppy Dog 2 – 1 absentee.
1. Carter, Wyreview Orson Welles – Brindle male excellent dentation, pleasing masculine head and good eye. Was slightly larger in frame that the MPD, good front and ribbing. Handled well again for one so young. Just needs to tighten up in front, I am sure this will come with time.
Junior Dog 2 – 1 absentee.
1. Howlett & Phillips, Tendrow Malibar JW – a quality dark brindle male who was presented in excellent condition. Harsh jacket, masculine head with a nice dark oval eye. 2. Farrington, Dollydash Defender Of Faith – brindle with a lovely harsh jacket, dark eye with correct dentation. Nice neck into well placed shoulders, tight elbows and nice feet. Unfortunately, he was a little hesitate today on the table. Just needs to muscle on hind quarters to remove rear movement.
Novice Dog 2.
1. Jackson, Elderkine Special Brew – very balanced red with good jacket. Masculine head with good eye, and good expression. Correct shoulder placement with good front, ribbing carried well back with firm loin finished with a well angulated rear. Moved soundly in profile. 1. Christie, Cloudside Valentino At Decalleigh – overall a balanced male with a good harsh jacket. Pleasing head, eye, and expression. Excellent shoulders with tight elbows, good bone, and feet.
