Many thanks to the Society for inviting me to Judge three varieties of Dachshund, without CC’s, at this well organised show set within the lovely location of the Malvern Hills. Thank you also to my two ring stewards and, of course, the exhibitors for the lovely entry that I received especially for a Thursday, I was absolutely delighted.
D (4) 1 Boloria Goodnight Mr Tom (Rowe) BPIB & HPG4 A smart
puppy with lovely head planes & furnishings, good strong bite and super length
& strength of neck. His markings deceive the eye somewhat of his well laid
shoulder blade, return of upper arm & developing sternum for his age. Good
length of back & ribbing with sufficient clearance under, into nicely angled
rear quarters used well on the move. Delighted to see that he was awarded HPG4.
2 Knottsrose Olaf (Sanders) Another smart youngster, good in head & bite, lovely
neck flowing into a well laid front assembly but just a tad loose in front
coming today. Good length back & ribbing, plenty of clearance, nice feet and
bone, good tail set and well angled rear quarters. Two lovely youngsters. 3

JD (4,2) 1 Tendrow Malibar (Howlett & Phillips) BD, BOB & HG4 Presented a very smart overall picture with maturity, good for head planes, correct ear set and a strong bite. Firm neck of length into a well laid shoulder, good return of upper arm & sternum and elbows set under. Good length of back and ribbed up, has clearance and topline flows to a curvy & correctly angled rear. Strong rear quarters used well on the move & delighted to see him awarded HG4. 2 Knottsrose Olaf (Sanders) Second in Puppy
PGD (5,3) 1 Silvae State Secret (Norman) RBD Good shape to head and correct ear set, lovely bite and strong neck flowing into a well laid front assembly with elbows set under. Good in bone & feet, clearance and length of body and well ribbed back. Nice coat and good topline flowing into well angled rear quarters, nicely set hocks which he used well on the move. 2 Pie in The Sky (Thomas) Slightly more inexperienced dog with a lovely overall outline, nice in head and ear set with good neck into well set front assembly. Good feet and bone, elbows set at lowest point, good length of back & ribbing, has the clearance and a nicely angled and rounded rear.
PB (3,1) 1 Romanchi Night at The Opera (Moore & Downes) Won this class on her clean movement, profile & up and back. Good in head, furnishings coming, good bite but perhaps could have a very slightly better eye shape. Long neck flowing into clean laid back shoulders with good angulation overall and elbows set under. Good length of back and ribbing, clean underline and curvy and well angled rear quarters. 2 Wyreview Olympia (May & Ball) She was a little hesitant today so was slightly untidy on the move here. Good head, eye and bite with length to her neck into a well laid front assembly, elbows well set under. Good for back length & ribbing although needs the maturity to come in her topline. Curvy and well angled rear quarters.
JB (3,1) 1 Silvae Kitemark (McCalmont) BB Lovely class headed by this bitch with good head proportions, eye and ear placement and furnishings. Good in neck flowing into a well constructed front with good shoulder and upper arm placement, lovely sternum and elbows set correctly. Good length of body & ribbing, lovely topline into a well rounded rear with correct angles. Moved out cleanly. 2 Wyldetam Genesis (Sieminski) Very similar comments apply to this bitch, again good for head planes, eye & ear with a good length neck and lovely front assembly, elbows at lowest point. The length of back and ribbing good with clearance under and flows cleanly into her nicely angulated rear quarters.
PGB (4,1) 1 Silvae Hallmark (McCalmont) Smart youngster who was a tiny bit unsettled on the move here but lovely in head planes, bite, eye and ear set. Nice in neck into a well angulated front, well laid shoulder & upper arm with good sternum & elbows well set under. Good length to body & ribbing, good for underline and lovely rear quarters, stood on good feet. 2 Sonham Twice As Nice JW (Matthews) Preferred the overall front construction of 1st here, good in head proportions, eyes and ear set with a good neck into her front. Elbows set under, good length of body & ribbing, correct clearance and lovely rear angles, stood on good feet and bone. 3 Ambiesque Avidly avec Colourbox (Cove-Print & Print)
OB (6,3) 1 Silvae Best Kept Secret (McCalmont) RBB Lovely head proportions on this bitch, nicely furnished with a good eye, ear set & lovely bite. Correct length & set of neck into a lovely front of good angles to shoulder & upper arm & sternum with elbows set well under. Curvy underline with clearance, good length to body & ribbing all flowing into correctly angled rear quarters. Moved out well to take this class. 2 Ch Tendrow Makes The Right Turn JW (Howlett & Phillips) Another very smart bitch & found that I was splitting hairs in this class. Good in head planes, eye and ear set and nice furnishings. Good for neck length flowing into her well constructed front assembly with elbows well set, good feet and bone. Length of back & ribbing good with clearance, lovely rear quarters with correct angles and set of hocks. 3 Wyeknot Come Fly With Me over Sonham (Matthews)
VB (1,) 1 Ch Bolorias Trick or Treat JW (Rowe) BVIB Such a joy to watch a veteran move out so freely going around the ring. Good in head & furnishings with nicely set ears &a a good eye. Strong neck into well laid shoulder & good return of upper arm, stood on good feet and bones. Lovely length of body & well ribbed back, has clearance & a firm topline. Well angulated rear quarters used well on the move.
