What an honour to judge at The Hound Association. A beautiful day, excellent organisation, a lovely spacious ring and a sporting ringside made for a memorable day. This was the first time I have awarded CCs to this variety. I was impressed with the quality of the entry; there were a number of each sex that I felt were future champions as well as the title holders themselves who were present. The breeders are to be congratulated for this high standard.

2ND 755 - Tendrow Don't Turn Around (Mrs P Rodwell), another baby whose superb extrovert temperament was a joy to see, enjoying his time in the ring as it should be, liked his head, well made front, well ribbed body, good hindquarters and moved soundly, Best Special Beginners;

2ND 767 - Hototo's Rocket Man (Miss H Turner), this dog was shown in good musculature which was appreciated, he is of pleasing type with good ground clearance, well ribbed and a sound mover, would prefer better feet and front;

1ST 745 - Silvae Standard Bearer (Ms C A Norman), two years dog of quality and bearing who I see is littermate to the BOB winner, has natural presence and presents a very good outline, correct head and eye shape, good legs and feet, well ribbed body with super topline, well angulated hindquarters, good coat, moved on a lovely stride in profile and was accurate out and back, sound and true on the move in all directions, pleasing ground clearance and kept drawing my eye, made his presence felt in the challenge;
2ND 751 - Tendrow Rubens Hagrid (Mrs V Phillips), another lovely dog of high quality, full of type and has a very good outline, super coat on this dog, good head, neck and shoulders, well ribbed back with good topline and very well made hindquarters, he is sound out and back and can cover the ground in profile, just slightly preferred the ground clearance of 1 but it could be weight, liked him a lot;

1ST 752 - Ch Tendrow Will to Succeed (Mrs V Phillips), lovely quality young dog just turned 2 years of age, has masculinity yet a look of class and bearing about him, super showman, liked his head with correct eye, well made front, correct bone and feet, well ribbed body with super topline held on the move, well let down hocks and correct hindquarters, really good coat, really good true sound mover out and back and covered the ground, keeping his outline, in profile, really pushed hard for the CC, had no hesitation in awarding him the RCC;
2ND 734 - Ch Covellyn’s Cecil at Silvae (Imp Che) (Mr D C & Mrs K D Mccalmont), very stylish, quality youngster of similar age to 1, very good proportions and balance, liked his head with correct eye shape, well made front with good bone and very good feet, well ribbed with excellent topline and a coat which is so well presented and of correct harsh texture, carried himself well in profile going on a free and flowing side gait, maintaining his static outline at all times, pushed hard;
3RD 726 - Ch Tendrow Malibar JW (Miss R & Mrs V Howlett & Phillips), another super dog who was a pleasure to judge, most worthy champion.

1ST 701 - Ch Aikton Alexander at Stanegate (Mrs J L Carruthers), hard to believe that this beautiful dog is now eligible for this class. He came into the ring looking superb with a gentle air of superiority about him, beautifully headed dog, to handle him he is so very well made all through with excellent front construction, very good bone and correct feet, excellent ribbing and topline, very good hindquarters, lovely head and eye, superb legs and feet, such a good coat presented to the minute and shown in super condition and musculature, he is looking as good as ever, so sound on the move out and back and looked good in profile maintaining his static outline, a pleasure to judge and to award yet another deserving CC;
2ND 765 - Salixian Eau Rouge (Mr I S & Mrs F E Smith), red of 9 years of age and a credit to his owner, what a super extrovert temperament he had and enjoyed every minute in the ring, pleasing topline and well muscled hindquarters, would prefer a better front;

1ST 758 - Cloudside Xamira with Boloria (Mrs J Rowe), really promising top class puppy of super type and overall construction, so much to like, full of breed type, liked her size, overall outline, balance and proportions, correct head, medium sized eyes of good colour, well made in front with good bone and good feet, well ribbed, excellent topline and well made hindquarters, moved sound and true in all directions and presented a lovely outline both standing and in profile, shows such a lot of promise for the future, title-bound I would think, one to watch, BPIB;
2ND 721 - Clipperdown Good Grief (Ms A & Mrs M Hepner Theodorou & Hepner Chapman) 7 months baby, a promising one, delightful temperament and outlook, soundly made all through with good ground clearance, correct coat, sound mover, litter mate to the winning MPD;

1ST 696 - Tannahill Day by Day (Miss A Binks), really liked this youngster, stood out here, liked her size, balance and proportions with nothing exaggerated, pleasing head and eye, well made front, good length of ribbing, strong topline held on the move and well-made hindquarters, scored in movement here where she was sound out and back and moved on a good stride in profile where she was free and drives well from behind, very nice bitch indeed;
2ND 729 - Auspicious Annie for Lanebern (Mrs K & Mr S G Lane), pleasing sort who had pleasing head and eye, pleasing coat and strong hindquarters, slightly unsettled;

2ND 741 - Incordemeo Black Majic (Mrs M M Mountford), b/t of pleasing overall type and outline, liked her head and eye, pleasing outline kept on the move, excellent coat, in good condition but I think a little less weight would enhance the overall picture;

1ST 737 - Silvae Hallmark (Mr D C & Mrs K D Mccalmont), exudes style and quality, has such a charming personality and obviously quite a character, such a pretty bitch with beautiful head and eye, super neck and so clean and smooth over the shoulders, good forehand, very correct coat, so well made in front and with good hindquarters, whenever I glanced at her she was always standing right, moved really well in all directions once settled, pushed her kennelmate hard in the challenge and was most worthy of the RCC, so similar to her kennelmate, clearly a future champion;
2ND 749 - Brumberhill Biscuit to Ambiesque (Mr P & Mr B Paterson), another lovely bitch who is no doubt knocking at the door for top honours, lovely type, quality and shown/presented in super condition, just the right amount of weight, lovely to go over, pleased in head, well made all through with particularly good hindquarters, good length of ribbing and excellent topline, really drove from behind, kept her outline on the move in profile, close decision;
3RD 697 - Tannahill Lovely Day (Miss A Binks), another good bitch who made her presence felt.

1ST 736 - Ch Silvae Fan The Flames (Mr D C & Mrs K D Mccalmont), this kennel certainly has quality in depth, this bitch was a pleasure to judge, loved her style and class, she has a quiet confidence about her and looks around her as if to say “who will be second?”, beautiful make and shape from her good feminine head, arched neck, good shoulders and forehand, excellent ribbing, correct bone and feet, super topline and very well angulated hindquarters, very good coat which was presented superbly, her excellent conformation manifests itself from the moment she sets off to move, totally true and sound fore and aft, goes on such a flowing stride in profile where her topline is superb and her static outline is maintained, she is a bit of a class act and it was a pleasure to judge her, rewarding her many qualities with CC and BOB;
2ND 727 - Ch Boloria Oh Darling JW (Misses R & R Howlett & Rowe), most worthy title holder with super outline standing, closer examination reveals how well made she is all through, beautiful houndy head yet still retaining femininity, good shoulders and return of upper arm, very good hindquarters, good length of ribbing, shown in good coat and condition and sound moving in all directions, another close decision;
