I would like to thank the officers and committee of South Wales  Kennel  Association for inviting me to judge at their show. A big thank you to the two very competent  stewards who kept  the ring running smoothly at all times. Thank you also to the exhibitors who entered their dogs for me to judge.

Not the biggest entry especially in Min Wires, but I was very pleased to find some top quality dogs in both breeds.

Hind movement needs some attention in Min Wires….and some questionable mouths in Standard wires.

Coats…which  is important  in Wirehaired dachshunds were mostly pleasing…being a good harsh texture.

After very many years of breeding miniature dachshunds  with a show weight limit, that limit is still very important to me, we need to keep our miniatures as miniatures, I was pleased today, to see mostly no exaggerated weights…

MPD 3/0

1 st Hopes,.. Tendrow Makes his Mark , He certainly made his Mark on me!

Top quality hound with great ring presence for one so young.  Lovely head .Prominent front with tight elbows, good reach of neck into well laid shoulder, and ribbing going  well back. Firm hind quarters which  enabled him to move around the ring with ease, drive   and style. RDCC.

2 nd Seaths…Sunsong Hope for the Best. Of different type to the first, he is well made through, prominent in front , with decent shoulders and ribbing, well let down behind, keeping a level top line on the move. I just prefered the substance of one.

3 rd Browns Koenhonds Apple Crumble.

PD 3/0

1 st Rodwells  Tendrow Don’t turn Around…. Lovely head, with correct bite, has good bone and feet  needs to tighten in front, but has time, well place shoulder and ribbing, he moved positively round the ring, keeping a good top line.

2 nd Stockdales  Fenwires Regulus.

Red youngster who has a lot to like, well made through, with good harsh coat, moving well keeping his topline, just prefered substance of one.

3rd Brown Keonhonds Apple Crumble.

3 rd Davies Atahira Finale

OD 6/1

1 st McCalmont CH Silvae Bystander , A quality handsome hound, very balanced through, super head, so very in sound front construction, elegant neck into well place shoulder and ribbing going well back, neat hind angulation, moved with drive and enthusiasm, with bold head carriage. CC and BOB.

1 st Phillips Tendrow Amazing Grace…. She is certainly amazing…having the wow factor my notes say! Lots of substance here but doesn’t distract from her feminity.

She has excellent construction, from her tidy front and excellent ribbing, a good harsh coat,  strong let down quarters …strong free flowing movement…a real hound. BP and BCC

Another very worthy CH….Different in type to one, but has quality  with all the essentials….super tight front elegant neck, into a good shoulder and ribbing, neat rear, she moved positively and freely, giving a good profile.
