Midland Dachshund Club Championship Show - 18th July 2026 - Dachshunds (Wire-haired)

 

Veteran dog (4) 2 absent

1st Carruther’s Ch. Aikton Alexander at Stanegate.  Very eye catching 7 year old in tip top condition. Lovely head and expression, correct size and shape, excellent reach of neck and well paced shoulders. Good strong well angulated hindquarters, super bone for size. Moved very well. Best veteran.  

2nd Smith’s Salixian Eau Rouge Very nice dog unlucky to meet the winner, correctly constructed throughout and super bone. Moved well but just lacked that little bit of ring presence.

Minor Puppy Dog (2)

1st Hepner Theodorou Hepner Chapman Clipperdown Red Baron Promising baby full of character, lovely head and expression with dark oval eye, reachy neck running to good shoulders, good bone and nice feet. Moved well keeping a good topline.

2nd Rodwell’s Tendrow Don’t Turn Around. Nice puppy with good head long reachy neck running into well angulated shoulders. Preferred feet and positive movement on the winner but only a baby and this will come together. 

Puppy Dog (4) 2 absent

1st Stockdale’s Fenwires Regulus Well boned red dog with plenty of substance. Good head with dark almond shaped eyes. Super shoulders, good length and spring of rib. Good well angulated rear quarters, sound movement both coming and going keeping outline at all times. Best puppy dog.

2nd Christie’s Cloudside Xaiden at Decalleigh  Nicely constructed throughout, super front and shoulders, depth and length of ribbing.  Just preferred the hindquarters on the winner and hind movement.

Post Graduate Dog (5)

1st Mountford’s Incordemeo Shadow. Correct size and shape, beautiful head and dark eye, excellent front and shoulders, good barrelled chest and length of ribbing, correctly angulated hind quarters and super bone. Moved well.  

2nd Lowe’s Harry M Windsor V H Ruwielse Land for Nasiriyah. Similar in type to the winner but not the forechest and with a little extra length. Good strong well angulated hindquarters and bone. Well handled. 

3rd Turner’s Hototo’s Rocket Man

Limit Dog (11) 

1st Phillips Tendrow Rubén’s Hagrid Handsome dog who is balanced throughout. Such a super reachy neck into correct laid back shoulders, good length and depth of ribbing, super bone and feet, hindquarters strong and well angulated. Moved freely and soundly but lacked the enthusiasm of the top award winners.

2nd Beagrie’s Feldhund Moonlight. More elegant dog and a little longer in body than winner, excellent coat and condition, good head, front and well laid shoulders. Good rear. Sound on the move with balanced reach and drive.

3rd Mountford’s Incordemeo Midnight

1st Howlett & Phillips Ch. Tendrow Malibar.  I loved this dog (my find of the day) he is a real showman, worked in harmony with his excellent handler, both totally focused. 

So full of quality with good masculine head and dark almond eye. Well placed shoulders, good forechest, length and depth of ribbing, well angulated hindquarters. Good level topline and kept outline at all times. Moved freely with reach and drive.In excellent coat. Shown in excellent condition. Delighted to award him the CC & BOB and to see him later go BIS. Congratulations

2nd Phillips Ch. Tendrow Will to Succeed Another outstanding exhibit from the Tendrow kennel.  Very little to choose between these two and construction wise so very similar. My decision was based on the overall showmanship and ring presence of Malibar today. RCC

3rd Rowe’s Ch. Boloria Goodnight Mr. Tom. 

Veteran Bitch (2) 1 absent

1st Clayton-Smith Cairparavel Kiss from a Rose. Quality 8 year old shown in lovely condition. Elegant bitch with a good front, depth and length of ribbing, nice head and eye, moved out freely and true. 

Minor Puppy Bitch (2) 1 absent

1st Hepner Theodorou Hepner Chapman Clipperdown Good Grief Litter sister to minor puppy dog and I see they are by my CC winner. Same remarks apply as they are very similar. Must have been a nice litter.

Puppy Bitch (4) 

1st Rowe’s Cloudside Xamira with Boloria. Beautifully balanced with super front and shoulders, good ribbing, well angulated hindquarters and bone for her size. Showed well. Best Puppy

2nd Eyre-Brook’s Gentlegorse Dare to Believe.  Nicely constructed throughout, super front and shoulders, depth and length of ribbing.  Just preferred the slightly better hindquarters on the winner and hind movement. She was totally focused on her handler at all times.

3rd Corner’s Dollydash Liberty of the Sea at Carcorn

Junior Bitch (5) 1 absent

1st Jones Something Audatious among Clanwillow. Very nicely constructed compact body with super bone for size. Good head and neck, super ribbing, strong hindquarters giving sound true movement. Gives her handler a bit of a hard time but when stacked properly looked a picture.

2nd Carruthers Stanegate Stephanie. I loved this bitch she is just my type, she oozes quality throughout, very little to fault with her but today had to settle for 2nd as she turned one rear leg going away. Such a pity as she would have been one of the main winners.

3rd Seath’s Sunsong Shine Like a Star

Post Graduate Bitch (13) 5 absent

1st Hepner Theodorou Hepner Chapman Clipperdown Vivienne Leigh. Tidy compact red has a lot to like about her. Reachy neck into well placed shoulders, good depth length ratio, nice hindquarters, moved well keeping a lovely topline at all times. 

2nd Lane’s Auspicious Annie for Lanebern. Liked this well made girl and the same remarks apply as to her litter sister winner from previous class.  

3rd Mountford’s Incordemeo Black Majic. 

Limit Bitch (10) 2 absent

1st McCalmont’s Silvae Hallmark Beautiful and so lovely to go over, everything flows and she oozes quality. So well balanced with pleasing head and expression. Correct shoulder placement prominent forechest, good length and depth of ribbing, level topline and well angulated strong hindquarters. Excellent ground covering action and true coming and going. Pleased to award her the CC. Future champion I am sure.

2nd Paterson’s Brumberhill Biscuit to Ambiesque.  Attractive head with keen expression and correctly shaped dark eye, held on elegant neck. Good spring of rib, length of keel and overall body shape. Moved with confidence and held shape on the move. 

3rd Beagrie’s Feldhund Show the Way. 

Open Bitch (12) 5 absent

1st. McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Fan the Flames.  Beautiful head and lovely expression. Excellent front and super well angulated shoulders, super ribbing and keel giving her a lovely sweeping underline, she has correct angulated strong hindquarters providing powerful true movement and she keeps a pleasing outline at all times. A little longer in build to her kennel mate Hallmark therefore taking the RCC.

2nd Howlett & Rowe’s Ch. Boloria Oh Darling. Very balanced bitch with an lovely head, good length of neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Good ribbing and body condition. Well angulated rear, level topline both standing and moving which was true coming and going.

3rd Hutchings Ch. Collidach Raynee Day
